Gambling is paid entertainment
Casino games are built so that the house keeps an edge over time. Treat what you deposit as the price of an evening’s entertainment, not as a way to earn or to win back money you have lost. Decide on a budget and a time limit before you start, and stop when either runs out.

Signs it is time to stop
- You spend more money or time than you planned, and keep raising the limit.
- You play to win back losses or to get out of debt.
- You borrow money, sell things or skip bills to keep playing.
- You hide your gambling from family or friends.
- You feel anxious, irritable or low when you are not playing.
If one of these sounds familiar, a call to the Helpline costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
Tools inside your casino account
Most online casinos let you set deposit, loss and session limits, turn on reality-check reminders, take a short time-out or exclude yourself for a longer period. Look for a section called “Responsible gambling” or “Safer gambling” in your account settings, and set limits before you need them. A casino that offers none of these tools is a reason to play elsewhere.
Adults only — 18+
casinoblox.co.nz is written for adults. You must be at least 18 to gamble online in New Zealand, and casinos ask for proof of age before paying out. If children use your computer or phone, keep casino logins private and consider parental-control software that blocks gambling sites.
Online casinos and New Zealand law
The Online Casino Gambling Act 2026 sets up licensing of online casinos in New Zealand. The Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) issues licences from 1 December 2026; until then no online casino holds a New Zealand licence, and offshore sites answer to the regulator that licensed them. The DIA explains the rules for players on its online gambling page.
